iPhone X is packed with a whole host of new features.
As for the security measures, Touch ID is replaced by Face ID, whereas the concept of passcode is still the same.
When talking about unlocking your iPhone X, there are three ways your phone can be unlocked, namely:
[listNum]■Using Face ID
■Using a Passcode
■Simple Swipe (No Security) (Not Recommended)

Unlocking iPhone X Using Face ID
Compliments to the TrueDepth camera, the process is seamless. This means, if you have set up Face ID, your iPhone X gets automatically unlocked. All you need to do is look at it when on the Lock screen.
Here's how this is done:
Swipe up the Gesture Bar. This takes you to the Home screen, and you can start using your iPhone X normally.
Unlocking iPhone X Using Passcode
Unlike Face ID, unlocking iPhone X with your passcode is not seamless, and you must enter the 6-digit secret passcode manually before you can use your phone.
Here's how:
Swipe up the Gesture Bar and enter the passcode using the virtual dial pad. This unlocks your iPhone X, and takes you to the Home screen.
Note: You can use passcode to unlock your iPhone X if your Face ID fails to do so, or if you have not set up Face ID in your phone at all.
Simple Swipe – No Security
Although it is not recommended to leave your iPhone X without Face ID or passcode protection, if your device remains mostly at home or among trusted people, you don't have to make it that secure. Without any security measures enabled, you can directly get to the Home screen from the Lock screen.
Here's how:
Swipe up the Gesture Bar. This takes you to the Home screen from the Lock screen. Since no security measures are enabled in this case, a simple swipe up from the Lock screen would let you use your iPhone X normally.
